The Bowling Green State University volleyball team defeated the University of Maine in three games 30-24, 30-22, 30-22 on Friday (Sept. 13) in the 2002 Colorado/PowerBar Invitational. The Falcons improve to 3-4 on the season.
Junior Susie Norris led the BG attack with 15 kills on 27 attempts for a .519 hitting percentage. Norris also led the team defensively with 11 digs giving her yet another double-double performance on the season. The junior left-side hitter is just one kill shy of joining the elite 700 career-Kill Club, while senior Kristin Gamby used her nine-kill performance to get her only five kills away from the same club. Right-side hitter Laura Twyman followed the pair with 11 kills and four blocks for the Falcons.
Bowling Green returned to action on Saturday (Sept. 14) as they played the University of Texas-Arlington in the final match of the tournament.
