Volleyball Falls To Duke, 1-3

The Bowling Green State University Volleyball team dropped its first contest at the Pittsburgh Invitational Saturday (Sept.7) morning as they faced ACC powerhouse, Duke. The Falcons took the Blue Devils to four games but were defeated in the end 25-30, 25-30, 30-27, 28-30.
Junior Susie Norris improved upon her performance from the previous night posting 23 kills on 44 attempts and hitting a .432. Senior Kristin Gamby was the only other player to compile double digits in the kill department. She went 17 kills for 31 attempts hitting a .387. Newcomer Taylor Twite posted 9 kills on 20 swings for an even .300 hitting percentage while fellow transfer Amber Mareski dished out 39 assists for the Orange and Brown. Freshman Emily Manser and junior Nadia Bedricky led the Falcon defense with 11 and 13 digs, respectively.
The Falcons went on to face tournament host Pitt in the featured match at 7:30 p.m.
