Falcons Host MAC Foes This Weekend

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University volleyball team returns home to host Mid-American Conference opponents, Toledo and Northern Illinois this weekend at Anderson Arena. Both matches are set for 7:00 p.m.
The Falcons are coming off a four-set loss to Cleveland State on Tuesday, 25-30, 20-30, 32-30, 24-30 and have lost seven of their last eight matches. The senior combo of Susie Norris and Nadia Bedricky each posted 13 kills and freshman Chrissy Gothke had a team-leading 22 digs in the loss to CSU.
A LOOK AT THE OPPONENTS
The University of Toledo (7-12, 3-4 MAC) enters Anderson Arena after sweeping Buffalo last Saturday, 30-23, 30-19, 31-29, where they compiled a .413 team hitting percentage. The Falcons own a 41-11 overall record versus the Rockets after defeating UT in five earlier in the season at Savage Hall. Rachel Mohler who posted 15 kills and a .305 hitting percentage in the win over Buffalo leads the Rockets.
Northern Illinois University (14-5, 3-3 MAC) has lost three of there last four matches, splitting their two MAC matches, defeating Marshal in three after being swept by Ohio the previous night. The Huskies own a 17-3 all-time series lead over the Falcons. NIU swept the Falcons last season, downing the Brown & Orange in four at Anderson Arena and swept BGSU at Northern last year.
NORRIS IS BGSU ALL-TIME DIGS LEADER
With dig number three versus Central Michigan last week versus Central Michigan, senior Susie Norris reached career dig number 1,345, to become BGSU's all-time leader in digs for a career. Holli Costein compiled 1,344 career digs from 1989-1992, holding the BGSU record for 11 years.
FALCONS CONTINUE BALANCING ACT
The Brown & Orange have had several players step-up their play throughout the season, and in turn BGSU has six Falcons averaging at least 1.45 kills per game. Leading the way for the Falcons is Taylor Twite and her 3.70 kills per game. The List continues with Samantha Rennau 2.96, Susie Norris 2.86, Melissa Mohr 2.18, Nadia Bedricky 1.45 and Emily Manser 1.45 kills per game.
