BGSU Drops Dual Meets to #19 Notre Dame and Louisville

South Bend, Ind. - The Bowling Green swimming and diving team dropped two dual meets against #19-ranked Notre Dame (188-90) and Louisville (187-89) at Rolfs Aquatic Center on the campus of Notre Dame Friday night.
BGSU's lone event winner was its 200 medley relay which turned in a time of 1:51.74. Members of the winning team were freshman Brittany O'Conner, sophomore Kara Ohngren, junior Amy Smith, and sophomore Stephanie Buckner.
Ohngren was the highest finisher among Falcon individuals with her second-place finish in the 500 free in a time of 5:06.26, two seconds behind Notre Dame's Christel Bouvron (5:04.50). Ohngren also placed fourth in the 200 IM (2:13.61) and 200 free (1:57.35).
Freshman Caroline Keating had a third-place finish in the 1,000 free with a time of 10:31.91 while O'Conner had third-place finishes in both the 100 backstroke (1:01.03) and 200 backstroke (2:10.50). Dana Schultz finished third in the 100 butterfly (1:00.38) and 200 butterfly (2:09.56), Molly Peterson was third in the 3 meter (218.45), and Carly Cusack was third in the 1 meter (217.85).
The Falcons will return to South Bend for their next competition when they participate in the Notre Dame Invitational, Dec. 4-6.
