BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Alex Rogosheske is the Bowling Green State University Scholar-Athlete of the Week. Rogosheske, a sophomore on the BGSU hockey team, had a pair of goals as the Falcons posted a convincing 5-0 victory at Nebraska Omaha Friday (Jan. 31).
Rogosheske, a native of Mahtomedi, Minn., had the first two-goal game of his career in the win, as the Falcons earned the shutout in front of a sellout crowd at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. One of Rogosheske's goals came on the power play, as the Falcons scored four times with the man-advantage in the win.
On the season, Rogosheske has played in 25 games, and has a total of nine points on the year. Eight of those points have come in Central Collegiate Hockey Association action. He had a career-best three-game point streak snapped in Saturday's (Feb. 1) 6-3 loss to UNO. Rogosheske scored four points (three goals, one assist) in that three-game span.
Rogosheske, a business pre-law major, has a 3.75 cumulative grade point average through the fall, 2002, semester.
The Falcons of head coach Scott Paluch will host Michigan State in a Saturday (Feb. 8) contest at the BGSU Ice Arena. That game, the CCHA Game of the Week, will begin at 7:35 p.m. and will be televised live on Fox Sports Detroit.
