BGSU is now 4-4 all-time at Gund Arena after falling to Central Michigan, 87-70.
Freshman Ron Lewis scored a career-high 30 points and averaged 29 points per game in the first two MAC Tournament games of his career. His two-game total (58 points) fell just three points shy of the event's two-game scoring record of 61 shared by CMU's Dan Majerle in 1987 and EMU's Grant Long in 1988.
With his 15 of 18 performance from the line, Lewis did establish overall tournament records for free throws made (37) and attempted (43). Ball State's Dan Palombizio made 25 free throws in 1985 and Brandon Hunter attempted 32 in 2001.
In two games this season at Gund Arena (BGSU defeated Cleveland State there in December), Lewis averaged 25 points in the home of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Sophomore John Reimold added 20 points and made five three-pointers. He has averaged 22 points at Gund Arena this season.
Senior Cory Ryan closed out his career by hauling in a season-high seven rebounds.
Freshman Cole Magner played a season-high 36 minutes and had a career-best seven assists.
The Falcons led 24-14 with just over 12 minutes left in the first half and allowed an opponent to overcome a 10 point deficit for just the second time this season to win a game. Northwestern also trailed by 10 points in the first half, before defeating BGSU, 62-60, on December 7.
