Redd Signs Free Agent Contract With Indianapolis Colts

Bowling Green, Ohio - Former BGSU wide receiver Robert Redd (Dayton, Ohio/Wayne HS) has signed a free agent contract with the Indianapolis Colts. Redd holds BGSU receiving records for receptions in a season (83, 2002), receptions in a career (211), and receiving yards in a career (2,726). His 14 receptions against Northern Illinois also is a single-game Falcon record.
Redd (5-10, 200) also earned first-team All-MAC honors in 2001 and 2002.

2002: Named first-team All-MAC... led BG in receiving, with 83 catches for 973 yards and nine TDs ... averaged 81.08 receiving yards per game ... averaged 6.7 yards on 31 punt returns ... listed as the MAC's "Most Dangerous Player" in The Sporting News' Conference Call ...finished the season ranked ninth in the nation in receptions per game (6.92)...finished the season ranked second in the MAC in receptions per game and sixth in receiving yards per game (81.08) ... ranked among the MAC's active leaders in both receiving (third, 2,726 career yards) and scoring (T-9th, 150 pts.) ... holds the school's all-time receptions mark with 211 ... was second in BGSU history (and eighth in MAC history) with 25 career TD catches ... his uncle, Ronnie Redd (1991-94) currently holds the school record with 27 ... had nine TD catches this year, which was only two away from the BG single-season record (11, Jim Ladd, 1952) ... in EMU game, broke BGSU single-season record for receptions (78, broke his own mark of 72 set last year) and career-receiving yards (2,686, was 2,679 by Stan Hunter 1982-85) ... had seven catches for 97 yards vs. EMU ... caught 11 passes for 128 yards vs. South Florida ... became the school's all-time receptions leader with his 14 catches at NIU ... had 119 yards receiving ... had five catches for 40 yards vs. BSU ... tied his career best with three TD catches vs. Ohio ... earned MAC West Offensive P-O-W honors after catching 10 passes for 209 yards and a TD vs. Missouri ... that performance made him the first Falcon ever to have 200 receiving yards in a game at Perry Stadium ... leads all current Falcons with a total of 38 career starts ... team captain ... consensus pre-season All-MAC pick ... a first-team All-MAC selection in 2001.

1998: Earned first letter after playing in nine games and starting four ... missed the Central Florida and Northern Illinois contests after separating his shoulder against Akron ... started the Ohio, Miami, Toledo and Kent games at split end ... ranked second on the team in receiving yards and fourth in receptions ... averaged 18.6 yards per catch ... established a high of five receptions in the Ohio game and 131 receiving yards in the Akron contest ... had a 78-yard catch in that UA game, the longest non-scoring pass reception in school history ... had only scoring reception of season in the OU contest ... his 131 receiving yards in the UA game are the most-ever by a freshman at BGSU ... it marked only the second time a frosh has topped the century mark in a game (teammate Kurt Gerling had accomplished it earlier in the season) ... was seventh in the MAC in punt returns, averaging 6.7 yards on 15 returns.
