BGSU Women's Track Improves Relay Times At Michigan

Ann Arbor, Michigan. - The BGSU women's track team sent its 400-meter and 1600-meter relay teams to compete at the Len Paddock Invitational, Saturday, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Both quartets notched season-best performances as they prepare for next weekend's MAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Central Michigan University. The league championships will begin Thursday, May 15.
The 400-meter relay team consisting of sophomore Valerie Holland, junior Amy Henry, junior Alicia Taylor, and sophomore Amber Walker finished third in a school-record time of 46.56. Their performance could move them up to as high as fourth among MAC teams competing at the MAC Championships. They entered this week as the sixth ranked squad in the league.
The 1600-meter relay team took home first place with a season-best time of 3:38.73. The group consists of Taylor, junior Ellen Alkire, sophomore Marquita McGowan, and Walker. They are currently ranked ninth in the MAC.
