Weather Plays Havoc With MAC Tourney Schedule

AKRON, Ohio - Inclement weather in Northeast Ohio has played havoc with Friday's (May 9) Mid-American Conference Softball Tournament schedule. Rain Thursday night and Friday morning has pushed back the first game by at least four hours.

As of early afternoon, Friday's first game, between Miami and Northern Illinois, was slated for a 3:00 p.m. start. Bowling Green, the fifth seed for the tourney, is scheduled to play third-seeded Central Michigan in Friday's second game, with Marshall and Western Michigan scheduled to meet in the third contest. If a fourth contest can be played Friday, that game would pit the Miami-NIU winner vs. the BGSU-CMU winner.

The tournament is scheduled to run through Saturday (May 10), with a rain date set for Sunday (May 11).
