Three Falcons Named to Great Lakes Summer Collegiate All-Star Game

Three Bowling Green State University baseball players have been named to the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League All-Star game, to be played this Sunday, July 13, at Ohio Wesleyan University.
Pitchers Burke Badenhop (Perrysburg, Ohio) and Neil Schmitz (St. Henry, Ohio), along with outfielder Jeff Warnock (Cincinnati, Ohio), will play in this Sunday's All-Star game. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Badenhop is a member of the Stark County Terriers and has a 2-1 record, 1.17 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 23 innings pitched. The right-hander will be a junior this season for the Falcons.
Schmitz is a member of the Grand Lake Mariners and will be a senior this season for BGSU. Also with Grand Lake is Warnock. The left-handed hitting Warnock is batting .400 with 22 hits in 55 at-bats so far this summer. He has 10 RBI and five stolen bases.
In other summer baseball news, Falcon pitcher Kyle Knoblauch (Blissfield, Mich.) is playing for the Mat-su Miners of the Alaska Baseball League in Palmer, Alaska. Knoblauch, who will be a senior next year for the Falcons, is 3-2 with a 2.82 ERA in 38.3 innings pitched. He has 19 strikeouts and just seven walks in six starts. He began the season with a 3-0 record.
