CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference office has authorized the release of the MAC Academic Honor Roll for the 2002-03 academic year, and a whopping 18 members of the Bowling Green State University women's outdoor track and field team were among those honored. The BGSU athletic department had a total of 122 student-athletes selected.
To be eligible, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher. True freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible, as a student-athlete must have attended the institution for an entire year to qualify for the award.
For the women's outdoor track Falcons, the honorees include seniors Cyndi Bostdorff, Amy Henry, Katrina Kerns, Melanie Oberrecht, Christy Paine, Beth Scheall, Melja Siebert, Kristin Spicer and Mary Willems, juniors Ellen Alkire, Amber Culp, Leighann Kramer, Kerri McClung, Alicia Taylor and Jennifer Ziegler, sophomores Elise Gould and Melissa Krueger and redshirt freshman Erin Leeper. (Note: each student-athlete's year of eligibility reflects the 2002-03 academic year).
BGSU's list of honorees follows. The cumulative GPA figures for each student-athlete are through the fall, 2002, semester, as the nominations were made before the conclusion of the spring, 2003, semester.
