The Bowling Green State University volleyball squad dropped a three set match to Murray State, 30-25, 30-11, 34-32 on Friday night. The Falcons are now 1-1 in the BGSU Invitational after sweeping West Virginia earlier in the day.
After dropping the opening two sets the Falcons and Racers dulled to a 34-32 third and final set win for Murray State. After trailing 26-27, the Falcons stormed to a 29-27 third set lead, but were unable to put the Racers away. The Racers were able to fight off four set points before claiming victory.
Senior Susie Norris put together a 10-kill 13-dig performance and junior Taylor Twite chipped in with a 10-kill performance as well.
Sophomore Emily Manser came off the bench in that third set to supply the spark plug the Falcons needed. Manser put away her first four attempts (all in the third set) to rally the Falcons to a near comeback win.
The Falcons (5-3) take to the floor again on Saturday to host the Cyclones of Iowa State. The Match is set to begin at 3:00 p.m.
