BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University volleyball squad will look to end their three game losing streak with a road trip to Toledo on Wednesday, October 1. The rivals will square off in Savage Hall at 7:00 p.m.
The Brown & Orange (8-6, 0-1 MAC) are in search of their first Mid-American Conference win and are coming off back-to-back loses to IPFW and Western Michigan over the past week.
Versus IPFW, BGSU dropped a four-set match (30-23, 25-30, 25-30, 25-30) at Anderson Arena. Senior Samantha Rennau continued her hot play with her fourth double-double of the season, posting 18 kills and 12 digs. Melissa Mohr chipped in with 11 kills and had a .321 hitting percentage. Taylor Twite posted 14 kills to go along with four block-assists.
The Following night the Falcons welcomed Western Michigan to Anderson Arena. Even though the Falcons dropped the opening two games versus the Broncos, BGSU was able to push the Broncos to a fifth and decisive set, falling just short of a comeback (23-30, 28-30, 30-17, 30-23, 12-15). Despite the loss BGSU had five players post double-digit kills for the first time this season.
A Look At The Rockets
Bowling Green holds a commanding lead in the series over the Rockets at 40-11. Last season the two teams split, with the Rockets defeating BGSU 28-30, 26-30, 31-29, 20-30 at Anderson Arena, while Bowling Green got the best of the Rockets at Savage Hall, 30-26, 30-27, 30-27.
The Rockets (4-10, 0-2 MAC) are coming off losses to MAC opponents Miami and Ball State last weekend. Toledo dropped a three-set match to Miami on Friday, and nearly ended Ball State's 56-match MAC home win streak the following night, (30-26, 36-38, 27-30, 30-20, 15-11).
Schedule
Following the match at Toledo, the Falcons will once again hit the road with a trip to Buffalo on Sunday, October 5. The match is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
