Falcons To Compete In Red Simmons Invitational This Weekend

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University track team heads north to Ann Arbor, Michigan to compete in the Red Simmons Invitational this weekend (Jan. 24). Join the Falcons will be Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Grand Valley State, Hillsdale, Michigan, Michigan State, Pittsburgh and South Florida. Field events begin competition at 9:30 a.m., while running events are scheduled to begin at noon.
BGSU is coming off a third place finish in the BGSU Quintangular last weekend. The Falcons had three top performances with Alicia Taylor placing first in the 60-meter hurdles with a school record 8.53 seconds. Joining Taylor was senior Amber Culp who posted a personal-best time of 17:55.91 in the 5,000 meters. With a time of 1:40.08 in the 600-meters junior Marquita McGowan was the third Falcon to capture a first-place finish.
