Falcons Host North Carolina On Saturday

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team looks to get back on track, after dropping a 194.175-191.425 to Southeast Missouri State last Friday, welcomes North Carolina to the Eppler Complex on Saturday (Jan. 31) for a 7:00 p.m. showdown.
Following the meet with the Tar Heels, BGSU travels to Ball State on Friday, February 6, for a 7:00 p.m. showdown with the Cardinals, before returning home on Sunday, February 8, when they host the All-Ohio Championships at 2:00 p.m.
A LOOK AT NORTH CAROLINA
North Carolina had a close call with the University of Maryland in its first home gymnastics meet last Saturday at Carmichael Auditorium. The Tar Heels came out ahead of its fellow East Atlantic Gymnastics League member, 194.900-194.375. The Tar Heels were led by junior Olivia Trusty, who posted a 39.500 in the all-around.
FOR THE SECOND CONSECUTIVE WEEK POPOVICH NAMED MAC GYMNAST OF THE WEEK
After being awarded MAC Gymnast of the Week on Jan. 19 for posting a career-high all-around score of 39.225, Popovich one-upped herself by posting a new personal-best all-around score of 39.275. Popovich led the Falcons in all four events, including the uneven bars where she posted a 9.900, good for first-place honors and the second-best mark in school history. She also placed second on the vault and floor with scores of 9.750 and 9.850, respectively. She also placed third on the beam with a 9.775.
