Columbus, Ohio -
Bowling Green Head Coach Curt Miller
On playing in the preseason WNIT
"We came out with lots of emotion. It is an honor to be invited to the preseason WNIT. We were excited to play against a nationally-ranked team that is in-state."
On the game
"We started the game ready to compete. The run they had in the first half really knocked the wind out of our sail but for the most part we came out the way we wanted to. It was a different story in the second half."
On Ohio State
"They are loaded. They are a legitimate Final Four team and there is no doubt they are the favorites to win the Big Ten. They just have tremendous talent. They are a team loaded with McDonald's All-Americans. It is such a different level."
On Jessica Davenport
"Our game plan was to put help on her (Jessica Davenport). She is the one who dictates your defense. After (Ohio State) was coming off a night where they didn't shoot that great against the Australian team, they proved they could certainly shoot 3-pointers. They made our defense look silly. The way they were stepping up to make three's, they are nearly unbeatable."
Bowling Green center Liz Honnegger
On playing Ohio State
"We heard they were ranked eighth and we knew it was going to be a big test for us. I don't think that scared us any to say the least."
On guarding Jessica Davenport
"She was hard to guard but I had good help from my teammates. Every time I thought I had her, she would come up with a rebound or have the ball."
Ohio State head coach Jim Foster
On the team's performance
"I think we played well defensively and our intensity was good tonight. They played hard and with intelligence. We got easy baskets because of our defensive pressure. With this team you can throw a lot of different looks at teams and we wanted to emphasize defense. Tonight we wanted to get fresh people in the game. Coaches enjoy getting players in there."
On the team's playing strategy
"Basketball is not a game for selfish people. So each individual needs to buy into whatever job or role they have. We talk about what a good shot for each individual is and for the most part everyone takes shots they should be taking. It's great to have a group that is unselfish."
Junior guard Tia Battle
On playing in the game tonight
"One of the rules on the team is to give defensive intensity. I knew I could do that, so that's what I came in the game to do."
Senior guard Ashley Allen
On playing in first game back after two season-ending injuries
"It felt good to return and it was exciting. I hoped to bring intensity and a different look to the game."
Senior guard Caity Matter
On Bowling Green's strategy
"They doubled Jessica (Davenport) early in the game to make us hit the outside shot. We obviously got some open shots, but she also did a good job of hitting open people."
