Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green senior Jordan Sigalet was named Goalie of the Week and junior Don Morrison was named Defenseman of the Week by the Central Collegiate Hockey Association today. The Falcons took three of four points from visiting Miami this past weekend to pull themselves into a tie for fourth place in the CCHA.
It is the fourth time in Sigalet's career that he has been named Goalie/Defensive Player of the Week while it marks Morrison's first ever POW honor. BGSU picked up its seventh victory before the month of December for the first time since 1996 when the Falcons were 7-7-1 on Nov. 30. This year's team is now 7-3-2. In the past five years, BGSU hasn't recorded win No. 7 until the middle of January. (2003-04-Jan. 23; 2002-03-Jan. 31; 2001-02-Jan. 25; 2000-01-Jan. 19; 1999-2000-Jan. 14).
Sigalet allowed just one even-strength goal in 125 minutes of work versus Miami, helping the Falcons take three points from the RedHawks. He also helped his own cause by assisting on the game-tying goal on Nov. 26, his third career assist. Sigalet stopped 50-of-53 shots faced (.943 pct.) and led a penalty kill that stopped 10-of-12 MU power plays in the two games. Sigalet has held BGSU opponents to two goals or less in six games this season and for the second time this year held an opponent scoreless in overtime. His .921 save pct. in tops in the CCHA among goalies with over 500 minutes between the posts (689:14 min.).

Morrison earned a team-high two points (1g, 1a) in a tight, low-scoring series against visiting Miami last weekend. Morrison scored the game-tying goal at 12:07 of the third period on Nov. 26 then assisted on one of BGSU's two goals on Nov. 27 in a 2-1 victory. His assist on Nov. 27 gave him a career-best, three-game point streak (1-2--3). The Alberta native leads the Falcons in scoring over the past six games with two goals and five assists and has a plus-2 rating. For the season, Morrison is tied for the team lead among defensemen with eight points (2g, 6a) and in plus/minus (+5) in just eight games. Morrison is already just three points away from his career-best set last season in 38 games (2-9--11).
