The Falcons are in their eighth season under head coach Dan Dakich. Dakich is second all-time at BGSU in winning percentage (.565) and fifth all-time in wins with a 118-91 record.
The Falcons boast a two-game winning streak after defeating Bradley, 81-65, and Illinois-Chicago, 63-51 at home last week.
BGSU is the top defensive team in the MAC allowing opponents to shoot just 38.7% from the field and 17.1% from three point range. BGSU is third in the league in scoring defense allowing just 61.7 points per game.
The Falcons improved to 27-3 under Dan Dakich in non-conference games at Anderson Arena.
The Falcons held the Horizon League Preseason Player of the Year, UIC's Cedrick Banks, to just six points and did not allow him to make a field goal and held Preseason All-MVC pick Marcus Sommerville of Bradley to just one field goal and 11 points.
Senior Josh Almanson is the top scorer in the MAC averaging 18.7 points and was named MAC West Player of the Week after averaging 19.5 points in BGSU's two wins last week. He had 22 points and six rebounds against Bradley. He has scored in double figures in three straight games for the first time in his career.
Junior Steven Wright is sixth in the MAC in scoring with a 15.3 average. He also is third in the league in field goal percentage (60.0) and sixth in three-point field goal percentage (46.2).
Junior Germain Fitch leads the MAC in assist/turnover ratio at 12 to 1, while sophomore John Floyd is sixth with 18 assists and six turnovers. Floyd is third in the league averaging six assists per game.
Freshman Scott Vandermeer is second in the league in blocked shots averaging 1.67 per game.
In the first three games, BGSU has outscored the opposition 43-17 in the first seven minutes of the game.
Detroit boasts an 11-game winning streak over the Falcons in Calihan Hall. The last BGSU win on the road against the Titans came in the 1956-57 season.
The Titans have dropped three straight after winning their season opener against SW Missouri State, 76-65. Detroit lost at Purdue, 66-56, at home to Ball State, 59-44, and at Western Michigan, 64-48.
Detroit is led by senior James Theus who is averaging 12.5 points. They are shooting just 40.9% from the floor and 30% from three-point range.
