East Lansing, Mich. - BGSU is now 5-1-1 on the road, 6-2-2 when being outshot, 6-0-0 when scoring first, and 6-1-2 in games decided by two goals or less.
The 2-1 victory was the first win at Munn Ice Arena for BGSU since Dec. 7, 1997. It was just the ninth win by the Falcons in East Lansing in 42 games (9-30-3).
Six of the last seven matchups between the Falcons and Spartans have been decided by two goals or less.
This marks the fastest time BGSU has reached eight victories since 1995 when the Falcons were 8-1-1 by Nov. 17.
SO Jonathan Sigalet's two goals in the win are a career-high.
FR Jonathan Matsumoto snapped a two-game pointless streak with an assist on Friday.
JR Don Morrison improved his point streak to a career-high and team-high four games (1g, 3a). With his nine points (2g, 7a) in just nine games this season, he is just two points away from his career-high of 11 (2g, 9a) in 38 games last season.
