Rob Blake Bobblehead Giveaway Slated for Jan. 28

Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green State University will be giving out Rob Blake bobblehead dolls on Friday, Jan. 28, vs. Notre Dame to the first 700 Falcon Fans, compliments of Huntington Bank.
Blake, who wore the No. 3 sweater for BGSU, is currently a member of the National Hockey League's Colorado Avalanche and helped lead the Avs to the 2001 Stanley Cup Championship. Blake, a seven-time NHL All-Star and 1998 Norris Trophy recipient for Best Defenseman, also was a member of the 2002 Canadian Olympic Gold Medal squad.
The Simcoe, Ontario, native played for the Falcons from 1987-90, helping BGSU to a 81-48-7 overall record, one Central Collegiate Hockey Association tournament championship and three NCAA Tournament appearances. Blake was drafted in the fourth round of 1988's NHL draft by Los Angeles and didn't play a single minor league game, completing his college career on March 17, 1990, and playing for the Kings by the end of that week.
Blake owns the BGSU record for goals in a season by a defenseman (23, 1989-90) and finished with 104 points in 131 career games (39g, 65a). He was a teammate of BGSU Coach Scott Paluch in 1987-88.
