Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University football team will play twice on the road and once at home during the non-conference portion of their 2004 schedule. The Falcons, who finished ranked 23rd in the AP and Coaches Polls at the end of the 2003 season, will face national championship game participant Oklahoma, September 4 in Norman, Oklahoma. The following week BGSU will play its home opener on September 11 against Southeast Missouri State. SEMO replaces South Florida who did not honor their contract to play a return game in Bowling Green. The Falcons played at USF in 2002. On October 2, BGSU will travel to Philadelphia to face Big East member Temple in the newly built Lincoln Financial Park. It will mark the third straight year that BGSU will play in an NFL facility (Tampa Bay-South Florida, 2002 and Detroit-Motor City Bowl, 2003).
Over the last three seasons, BGSU is 10-2 against non-MAC schools with wins against Missouri (twice), Temple, Northwestern (twice), Kansas and Purdue. Of those victories, five have come away from Doyt Perry Stadium.
BGSU's conference schedule has not been finalized by the MAC.
