Bieksa Earns All-CCHA Honorable Mention

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green State University senior defenseman Kevin Bieksa has been named All-CCHA Honorable Mention, as voted on by the 12 league head coaches. This is Bieksa's first appearance on the All-CCHA squad.
Bieksa is second overall at BGSU and tops among Falcon defenseman with 7-14-21 in 36 games this season, including a team-high 100 shots on goal. He is one goal and three assists away from his career-best in each category.
The Grimbsy, Ontario native has served as an assistant captain for the Falcons the past two seasons. He is a fifth-round draft pick of the Vancouver Canucks (2001).
Bieksa has been named CCHA All-Academic honorable mention the past two seasons and was special mention his sophomore season. He becomes the second Falcon to be named All-CCHA this season with goalie Jordan Sigalet earning first-team accolades on Wednesday. This is the first time since the 1998-99 season that BGSU has had multiple representatives on the All-CCHA squads.
