"One of the things, if not the thing in conference tournaments, is making shots. I thought they did a good job of making their shots. They got good shots."
"We played Kent three times and never got a handle on DeAndre Haynes. He's played very, very well against us... Haynes got away from us. I thought by far he was the difference in the basketball game."
(On stopping Haynes penetration) "(John) Reimold made a comment at halftime that Haynes had five layups and he was probably right. That enabled the game to go into halftime tied."
"When Haynes was pushing the ball so fast, they really got comfortable shooting the ball."
"We got some good looks and some open looks. You couldn't ask for a better chance to make a shot. We just didn't hit them and they did."
(On the team's defensive struggles) "Yeah, inconsistency on defense has killed us the whole season. Well, basically inconsistency with everything has killed us the whole season."
