Falcons Finish Final Tune-Up For MAC Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich., - The Bowling Green State University track and field traveled to Ann Arbor, Michigan, over the weekend to compete in the Len Paddock Invitational, hosted by the University of Michigan. Several Falcons hit high marks for the season, as the MAC Championships draw near.
In the throws BGSU was led by Senior Kerri McClung who placed fourth in the shot put with a mark of 46-03.25, and backed that up with a sixth-place finish in the hammer throw, posting a mark of 155-11, a Falcon-best this season. Also establishing new personal-bests were Liz Honegger and Paris Bussey in discus and Andi Bunko in the javelin. Honegger placed fifth with a toss of 152-05, while Bussey finished directly behind her Falcon teammate with a mark of 147-00. Bunko surpassed her previous best by more then 10 feet, with a toss of 132-05, for a third place finish in the javelin.
Senior Alicia Taylor placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a 14.36, while her fellow sprinter Amber Walker placed seventh in the 200-meters (25.12) and third in the 400-meters (56.76).
Freshmen Erica Wilson and Veronica Vance got into the act as well with Wilson taking home fifth in the long jump (18-01), while Vance placed fourth in the triple jump (37-02.25) and 11th in the long jump (17-03.25).
The Falcons return to action on May 13-15 for the 2004 Outdoor MAC Championships, hosted by Miami University.
