ATHENS, Greece - The gold medal hopes for the USA Women's Sitting Volleyball Team at the 2004 Paralympic Games were dashed Sunday. But the Americans still have a chance to bring home some hardware with a bronze medal match with Slovenia.
Petra Westerhof scored a match-high 12 points to lead three players in double figures as the Netherlands swept the United States for the second day in a row to advance to Monday's gold medal match against China.
Monique Bons and Djoke van Marum added 10 points apiece for the Netherlands in the 25-14, 25-12, 25-17 victory Sunday at Helliniko Olympic Complex.
