BGSU Senior Jordan Sigalet a Hobey Baker Finalist for 2005
January 10, 2005 | Ice Hockey
Senior Jordan Sigalet (Surrey, British Columbia) is one of 10 finalists for the 2005 Hobey Baker Memorial award. Sigalet spearheaded a Bowling Green campaign this season that had the Falcons finish fifth in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association standings. BGSU recorded its best season in a decade and had home ice in the CCHA Playoffs for the first time in 10 years!
The senior goaltender was among the nation's leaders in goals-against-average and save percentage. Below is a list of accomplishments by Sigalet for you to consider when placing your vote for the Hobey Baker Award recipient.
The final nomination phase of 2005 Vote for Hobey ends Monday, March 28, at Vote for Hobey.
The 2005 Hobey Baker Award winner will be announced April 8 in Columbus, Ohio, the day before the championship game at the NCAA Frozen Four. The Hobey Baker Memorial Award is celebrating its 25th season of recognizing strength of character and excellent play in college hockey.
BGSU is just one of seven schools to have multiple winners of the Hobey Baker Award. Current Washington Capitals General Manager George McPhee captured the award in just its second year in exsistence in 1982, while current Columbus Blue Jacket Brian Holzinger won the award in 1995. Only three schools (Minnesota-4, Minnesota-Duluth-4, Harvard-3) have had three Hobey Baker Award winners.
