TOLEDO, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University tennis team opened the spring portion of the season with a 6-1 win over visiting Wright State University Saturday afternoon (Jan. 22) at the Shadow Valley Tennis Club in Toledo. The win moves the Falcons to 2-0 in dual-match play on the young season.

Senior Susie Schoenberger was victorious at the top singles and doubles flights. She downed Tiffany Foster in singles action, and teamed with junior Heidi Romer for a win at the number-one doubles flight.

BGSU's other singles winners, in order of flights, were Ashley Jakupcin (flight #2), Jenna Nussbaum (#4), Romer (#5) and Cameron Benjamin (#6). Romer did not lose a game in her sweep of the Raiders' Jennifer Bagby.

Jakupcin and Nussbaum teamed up for a doubles win at the second flight, while Andrea Meister and Andrea Volle were winners at doubles flight number three.

The Falcons return to Shadow Valley for a Sunday (Jan. 23) match vs. Youngstown State, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
