BGSU Ranks Among Top Four In Five NCAA Categories

Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University football team was ranked among the top four programs in the country in five major statistical categories and four individuals finished among the best in the country as well.
BGSU finished second in total offense with a MAC record 506.3 yards per game and were third in passing (338.3) and turnover margin (1.25), and fourth in in pass efficiency (165.5) and scoring offense (44.3, also a MAC record).
Sophomore Omar Jacobs led the nation in TD passes with a MAC record 41 and in points responsbile for at 22.5 per game. He was second in the nation in passing (333.5) and total offense (358.5) and his 41 to 4 TD to interception ratio is the best single season effort in NCAA history. He also finisheed fourth in passing efficiency at 165.47.
Senior Keon Newson finished fourth in the country in interceptions with six.
Junior P.J. Pope was fourth in the country in scoring averaging 10.5 points per game and senior Shaun Suisham was 12th at 9.25 per game.
Senior Cole Magner was 19th with 6.42 receptions per game and junior Charles Sharon was 21st averaging 89.2 receiving yards per game and junior Steve Sanders was 26th at 82.0 yards per game.
