BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -
Just Like Before
BGSU would like to see the same results they earned two weeks ago when they traveled to Akron and Buffalo, this weekend's two opponents. On October 7-8, the Falcons crushed the pair of MAC East foes in impressive fashion.
The Falcons will play Buffalo (9-13) first on Friday night. The Bulls are coming off their first conference win of the season, a 3-1 win over Kent State last weekend. The Bulls offense runs through Amy Brown and her 927 assists this season.
Saturday night brings a matchup with Akron (8-12). The Zips have a balanced attack with three players averaging over three kills a game.

Halm Receives MAC Honors
Redshirt freshman Kendra Halm was named MAC East player of the week for Oct. 10-16. Halm led Bowling Green to a 2-1 record last week, including a 1-1 mark in MAC play. In the Falcons' sweep of regionally ranked IPFW, Halm compiled a hitting percentage of .500, and had two blocks in the match.
In a sweep of Central Michigan on Oct. 14, Halm topped the Falcon offense with a career-high 20 kills and an impressive .485 hitting percentage. Halm also rejected four Chippewa attacks. In the Saturday night match 3-1 loss to first-place Eastern Michigan, Halm racked up seven blocks, and on the offensive end, collected 14 kills. For the week, Halm averaged 4.00 kills per game, had a three-match hitting percentage of .375, and recorded 13 blocks for a 1.30 block-per-game average.
Gothke Racking Up Triple Doubles
It had been eight years since the last triple-double by a Falcon when junior Chrissy Gothke became the first Falcon to do so (11 kills, 40 assists and 12 digs) since Wendy Watkins accomplished the feat in 1997 against Dayton earlier this season.
Gothke picked up another triple double just 11 days later. Then, in back-to-back matches against IPFW and Central Michigan on Oct. 12 and 14, Gothke recorded triple doubles number three and four of the season.
