Four Football Players Named Academic All-District

Bowling Green, Ohio - Four members of the BGSU football team were selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV squad which is presented by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Senior nose guard Mike Thaler (3.46, Production/Purchasing) and senior center Jon Culp (3.68, Broadcast Journalism) were first-team selections. Sophomore left guard Kory Lichtensteiger (3.35, Criminal Justice) and sophomore right tackle Drew Nystrom (3.40, Integrated Science) were second team selections.
Thaler and Culp are now eligible to become Academic All-Americans. District IV represents all Division I athletes in Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio and Michigan.
The last BGSU player to earn Academic All-American honors was tight end Craig Jarrett in 2003.
