Samarco Named MAC East Player of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Bowling Green State University junior Martin Samarco has been named the Mid-American Conference East Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday morning (Nov. 21). Samarco earns the honor for the first time this season and first for his career.

Samarco has averaged 18.3 points and five rebounds in his first four games with the Falcons. He is coming off a 23 point performance against Urbana where he made 9 of 13 shots including, 4 of 5 from three-point range. He also had a team-high 21 points in the Falcons' 72-71 win over Virginia Tech at the NABC Classic, giving the Falcons their first win over an ACC opponent since 1967. He is shooting 46.2 from three-point range.

Up next for Samarco and the Falcons will be Oakland on Nov. 30 inside Anderson Arena at 7:00 p.m.
