Bowling Green to Match-Up With Stiff Non-Conference Competition

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - After a two week hiatus, the Falcon swimming and diving program will travel to Columbus for the Ohio State Swimming and Diving Invitational which begins Friday and will run through Sunday. The three day meet will allow the Falcons to swim against BIG 10 programs while the divers will compete with student-athletes from the BIG 10, ACC, SEC and the PAC-10. Bowling Green will be the lone representative of the Mid-American Conference.
"Swimming in a Big Ten Invitational is a great opportunity for our program," said head coach Keri Buff. "We feel honored to be the only swimming school outside of the Big Ten to have been invited."
Among the competing women's programs, which Buff credits to be some of the best in the country, are Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, Penn State and host Ohio State.
On the boards, the Falcons will see the likes of Arizona State, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Miami (Fla.), Michigan State, Minnesota, Ohio State, Penn State and Purdue. Prennenial D-III powerhouse Kenyon will also have divers compete.
Men's competitors from Iowa, Kenyon, Michigan State, Minnesota, Ohio State and Penn State are also on the schedule for the days events.
The meet will begin December 2 with the swimming prelims at noon and the finals beginning at 6:00 p.m. whereas the diving prelims will be held at 2:00 p.m. The day will conclude with the diving finals that are scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
Admission to the Invitational is free to all spectators.
