Bowling Green, Ohio - The following are notes after the Falcons fell to Oakland, 76-66, Wednesday night at Anderson Arena.
BGSU still leads the series with Oakland, 3-2.
The Falcons lost for just the second time at home in 28 non-conference games since 1998.
The Falcons led by as many as nine, 25-16 with 6:58 left in the half, and led at intermission, 38-33. BGSU outrebounded the Grizzlies, 25-15 in the first half, but were outrebounded in the second half, 23-11.
Junior Martin Samarco led the Falcons with 16 points. It was the fourth straight game he has led the Falcons in scoring. He is averaging 19.5 points in that span. He also led the Falcons with three steals.
Junior Matt Lefeld had his second double-digit scoring effort of the season with a 13-point, six rebound performance.
Freshman Erik Marschall had his fourth straight double-digit scoring performance and had 10 points and three rebounds. He is shooting 62.5% from the floor in the last four games.
Junior John Floyd had 10 points.
Senior Mawel Soler had a career-high 11 rebounds and chipped in seven points.
Freshman Darryl Clements had seven points in 18 minutes of action.
Freshman Dusan Radivojevic saw his first game action of the season and had two assists and two steals in 13 minutes of play.
Senior Steven Wright missed his fifth straight game (recovering from a broken foot) and freshman Brian Guerin (mono) also was unavailable.
The Falcons will play its next four games away from Anderson Arena beginning this Saturday at Bradley, an 86-72 loser at Loyola of Chicago. BGSU also will play at Arkansas-Little Rock (Dec. 10), against Florida State (Dec. 17 in Mobile, Alabama) and at Troy (Dec. 19), before returning home against Notre Dame (Ohio) on December 29.
