Falcons Pick Up Road Win at Troy

The Game
Neither team scored for the first 3:42.
BGSU took the lead for good with 5:36 left in the first half on a three-pointer by junior John Floyd.
The Falcons led by as many as eight points, 27-19 on a pair of free throws by sophomore Perrick Robinson with 12 seconds left.
The Trojans Jarvis Acker banked in a 22 footer at the buzzer and the Falcons led 27-22 at halftime.
BGSU used a three-pointer by Floyd (32-22) and a triple by freshman Dusan Radivojevic (37-25) to build double digit leads.
The Trojans cut the lead to 37-32 with 14:07 remaining. The Falcons held Troy to 17.2% from the field and 22.2 from three-point range in the first half.
BGSU scored the next seven points and led by as many as 12, 50-38, with 6:46 left in the game.
Troy cut the lead to 50-46 with 2:56 left. Junior Martin Samarco missed two free throws with 2:42 to go, but Troy missed a three-pointer and two free throws on the next possession.
Samarco redeemed himself by hitting a 15-footer (1:47) and Floyd canned a trey (1:08) to end the Trojans hopes of a comeback win.

Troy shot just 27.8% from the field and 24.2% from three-point range. The Trojans were entering the game shooting 44% from the field and 39.9% from three-point range.
BGSU also held Troy 30.7 points below their usual scoring average of 82 points per game.
BGSU handed Troy its first loss at home (3-1).
On the two game trip to Alabama, BGSU held its opponents to 21.4% shooting from long distance (10/47) from three-point range. BGSU also averaged just 13.5 turnovers on the trip.
This was the second time this season that BGSU has held an opponent below 30 percent shooting (Western Carolina, 28.9%).
BGSU shot more free throws (23 to 20) than its opponent for the first time this season.

Player Plaudits
After being held scoreless against Florida State, Floyd had 13 points and three assists. His three triples were a season high.
Junior Matt Lefeld went for double figures for a career-best third straight game (10 points and 3 rebounds).
Radivojevic had a season-high nine points and added three assists and a steal in 21 minutes.
Senior Steven Wright had seven points, five rebounds, three assists and a steal as he was 18 minutes due to foul trouble.
Freshman Erik Marschall had six points and led the team with eight rebounds. That tied his season-high in boards (Virginia Tech).
Samarco was held below double-digits for the first time in his Falcon career. He did finish with six points, five rebounds and three assists.
Senior Mawel Soler had four points and six rebounds and junior Patrick Phillips added a key basket and rebound in five minutes of play.
Odds and Trends The Falcons finished 1-1 against the Sun Belt (UALR) and are 2-2 on an opponents floor this season.
BGSU is 26-2 since the 2000-01 season when holding an opponent below 59 points.
BGSU is 9-0 in the final game before Christmas under Dan Dakich.
