Falcons Making a Statement in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio - After two days of competition, the BGSU Swimming and Diving program is placed seventh of eleven teams competing in the Ohio State Swimming and Diving Invitational. The Falcons are the lone MAC program competing and are edging out competition from the BIG 10, ACC, SEC and PAC-10 programs. Currently, Minnesota has a commanding lead of the invitational.
Freshman Alisha Yee continued her strong start as a Falcon with her top five finish in the 100 Backstroke and scored in the 100 Butterfly. Fellow freshman Sami Jordan recorded a seventh place finish in the 100 Back as well.
Senior Dana Schultz slipped into seventh in the 100 Fly while classmates Jessica Guinness and Kara Ohngren added points for the Falcons in the 200 Free and the 100 Breaststroke, respectively.
Once again, it was a strong outing for the relay teams who recorded two top ten finishes in the 800 Free Relay and which scored in the 200 Medley Relay.
The Invitational wraps up Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. with qualifying heats for swimming and the platform diving competition at noon. Finals are at 3 p.m.
