Gymnastics Finishes Third at Pitt

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - Seniors Kristin DiPietro and Breanne Metzger finished second and third in the all-around, helping the BGSU gymnastics team to a third-place finish (191.325) at the four-way meet in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Spartans captured the meet with a score of 194.025, while Pittsburgh (191.650) finished second and James Madison (185.325) placed fourth.
The senior all-around duo of DiPietro and Metzger had one of their best combined performances of the season with DiPietro posting a score of 38.350, while Metzger scored a 37.875.
Junior Jessica Guyer continued her dominate season placing first on the floor (9.825), third on vault (9.675) and second on beam (9.750).
Other top performers on the vault included freshman Jayme Stambaugh and DiPietro. Stambaugh finished seventh with a 9.600 and DiPietro posted a 9.550, placing her ninth.
Junior Jessica Bradley was the top Falcon performer on the bars, posting a 9.800 for a third-place finish overall. Sophomore Sakura Tomita was right behing her teammate with a 9.775.
Guyer led all Falcons on the beam, but DiPietro and Bradley were also impressive. They finished eighth and ninth with scores of 9.600 and 9.575.
Joining Guyer on the floor exercise were freshman Jacquelyn Bernhardt (9.750) and sophomore Erin Coudriet (9.700).
The Falcons will return to action next Sunday (March 6) as they will travel to Fullerton, Calif. for a tri-meet with Cal State Fullerton and San Jose State.
