BGSU Doubles Up Murray State, 10-5

Murray, Ky. - Sophomore Eric Lawson led off the game with a home run to left field and Bowling Green never looked back, defeating Murray State on Sunday afternoon, 10-5, in Murray, Ky. Two batters later, senior Andy Hudak hit a solo home run while BGSU finished with four roundtrippers for the game.
The Falcons scored a run in five of the first six innings, including two each in the first, third, fourth, and sixth innings.
Murray State(3-3) trailed 5-0 going into the bottom of the third inning before cutting the BGSU lead to 5-2 in the frame. That was as close as the `Breds would get.
For BGSU, Hudak went 4-for-5 with two home runs, three runs and two RBIs. Nolan Reimold went 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs and three RBIs.
On the mound, AdamGumpf (1-0) got the win, allowing no runs on one hit, striking out four and walking one in two innings. Tom Oestrike came on in the third, allowing two runs on no hits and two walks in facing just three batters. Nick Cantrell relieved Oestrike, allowing no runs on one hit, striking out two and walking one in three innings. Greg Mentrek entered in the fifth inning, allowing three runs on five hits, striking out one and walking none in three innings. Brett Browning pitched the ninth inning, allowing no runs on no hits, striking out two and walking one.
BGSU improves to 2-1 and will travel to Dayton on Tuesday, March 1, for a 2 p.m. contest with the Dayton Flyers. The Falcons then travel to Bradenton, Florida, for its Spring Break Trip. BGSU kicks off eight games in seven days on Saturday, March 5, vs. Northeastern at 2:30 p.m. EST.
