Falcons Place Second At CMU Meet

MOUNT PLEASANT, Michigan - The Bowling Green State University track and field team placed second at the CMU Meet this Friday versus four other Mid-American Conference foes. Central Michigan won the meet with 256 points, followed by BGSU (180), Western Michigan (140.5), Toledo (122.5) and Northern Illinois (95).
The Falcons were once again led by the distance events, where senior Melissa Krueger placed first in the one-mile run with a time of 5:00.02. She also placed third in the 800-meters with a 2:18.56.
Freshman Stephanie Hillman was the top finisher in the 3000-meters with a third-place finishing time of 10:34.77.
In the jumps, the Brown and Orange were led by sophomore Erica Wilson who placed second in the high jump (5-04.25) and long jump (18-03.75).
Veronica Vance placed fifth in the triple jump with a mark ove 35-10.
Senior Kerri McClung finished first in the shot put with a mark of 50-10 to lead the Falcons in the throws. Her toss automatically qualifies her for Nationals.
The top sprint and hurdle finishers were Jessica White and Amber Walker. White placed second in the 200-meters (25.24) and Walker posted a time of 58.90 in the 400-meters, finishing third.
Up next for Bowling Green is the All-Ohio Championships on Feb. 12.
