Bowling Green, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference today announced its East and West Division Players and Pitchers of the Week for the week ending March 13. Each week, the MAC will honor both an East and a West Division Player and Pitcher of the Week.
This week's Player of the Week from the West Division is Bowling Green's Nolan Reimold (Greenville, Pa.). Reimold helped the Falcons to a 4-1 week by batting .444 (8-for-18). He scored six runs and drove in eight runs and recorded a 1.056 slugging percentage in the five games since March 7. Six of his eight hits went for extra bases -- three triples, two doubles and a home run. The junior also recorded three multi-hit and three multi-run outings. Reimold's Falcons picked up wins over Valparaiso, Holy Cross, Eastern Kentucky and Lehigh, with it's lone loss coming to Indiana. That defeat snapped an eight-game BGSU winning streak.
The Falcons are currently 8-2, its best start since 2001. Reimold leads the team with a .718 slugging pct. and three triples. He is among the team's leaders with a .359 batting avg., 14 hits, 10 runs scored, 13 RBIs, and 28 total bases. This is the third time in his career that Reimold has been tabbed MAC West Division Player of the Week.
BGSU is scheduled to next play this Wednesday, March 16, at Warren Steller Field at 2 p.m. against Findlay.
