ATHENS, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University track team opened the 2005 Mid-American Conference Championships Thursday in Athens, Ohio, with freshman Stephanie Hillman recording the only points for the Falcons in the 10,000 meters. With only two events on Thursday, the Falcons will look to Friday to make their move.
Hillman completed the 10,000 meters in a time of 36:49.16, good enough for seventh-place in her first MAC Outdoor Championship event.
With two events complete, Buffalo holds a narrow lead in the team standings on the women's side with 21 points. Ball State scored 12 points and Central Michigan trails with 10 points in third place. Kent State (8), Western Michigan (8), Akron (5), Northern Illinois (5), Ohio (4), Toledo (3) and Bowling Green (2) round out the scoring teams after day one.
The action will continue Friday, beginning with the decathlon at 10 a.m.
