BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green State University assistant athletic director of communications has announced that Dave Meyer has been named assistant director for athletic communications. He replaces Kris Kamann who left BGSU to become director of media and public relations for the Continental Basketball Association. Meyer will oversee media relations for the Falcons hockey and men's and women's golf programs, serve as the editor for the football game program, and be the administrative contact for the department's website, BGSUFalcons.com.
"Dave will be a tremendous asset to our program," said Campbell. "He has a good sense of the demands on our office and that should make the transition as smooth as possible."
Meyer, 27, is a native of Ottawa, Ohio. He earned his bachelor's degree from BGSU in 2001 and recently completed his master's degree in sports administration from the University. He served as a student assistant in the Falcons' athletics communications office and completed two years on the staff as a graduate assistant. He also worked in sports information at the University of Dayton.
"I'm really looking forward to this opportunity," said Meyer. "There is a great deal of interest in the entire program at BGSU and that is what makes this position so appealing."
Recent BGSU graduates Kyle Kuhlman and Erin Schorr also have joined the staff this year as graduate assistants. Kuhlman, another Ottawa native, will work with volleyball and baseball. Schorr, a native of McKeesport, Pa., will serve as the media contact for men's soccer, swimming and diving and tennis.
