INCH.com - BGSU Senior Jon Horrell has been named Inside College Hockey's Player of the Week after recording a 3-0-0 record, a 0.67 goals against average, as well as a .976 save percentage.
What INCH is saying about Horrell:
His Statistics: 3 GP, 3-0-0, 83 saves, 2 GA, 2 SHO
His Impact:
Two teams currently share honors for the nation's longest winning streak at six in a row - Minnesota and Bowling Green. The Falcons, who were a season-low seven games under .500 on Dec. 9, have moved to 10-11-1 due in large part to the transfer from Findlay, who has backstopped the half-dozen victories. Horrell's run includes three wins last week - a 22-save shutout against Colgate, a 38-save effort in a 3-2 triumph at Ohio State, and a 23-save whitewash of the Buckeyes in Bowling Green.
In his last six games he is averaging 1.52 gaa, a .954 save percentage and has a 6-0-0 record. He currently is on a streak that has seen only two goals get past him in his last 220:46. He also has been named CCHA Goalie of the week three times this year, including the last two.
Horrell and the Falcons play a home-and-home with Western Michigan this weekend with the Falcons playing host this Friday night. Face-off is set for 7:05.
