Dan Dakich
"I thought this was a really hard played game. To be honest
with you, I think that Toledo always plays really hard. When I
watch them on tape, I don't know of a team that plays any harder,
quite frankly. And, I don't know of anyone that is anymore
aggresive on the defensive end and we had to guard because I think that
have some guys that can really get going and I think we matched
them."
"I think that basically, the game was back and forth, they missed some free throws, gave us an opportunity to maintain and enhance the lead and I thought our guys were really tough."
"I thought that Moon Robinson and John Floyd, Floyd hitting the shot that basically iced the game. I thought he looked tired to start the second half, I've worked him really hard. I wanted to get him outbut he kept his head up, Moon kept his head up and if Mawel (Soler) could make a lay-up, he might've had 30. I thought those guys brought a lot of energy to it, which you have to in my opinion against Toledo."
"When you respect the opponent that you're playing, it always feels good. It feels really good. I just respect them, I think they're a very good team and to beat them, it makes you feel good. But, until about six, I'm going to try and watch my son's team at five, and then we move on."
"That is just what you do in college basketball. Tonight, we'll be sitting here and we'll be on Eastern Michigan. But now, now I feel great because we beat a very tough opponent. But, we've got Eastern Michigan next."
STAN JOPLIN
"Obviously, we're disappointed. We didn't come up with the
plays down the stretch whether it was a free throw, a loose ball,
a shot and we had too many turnovers."
"I just think we had too many breakdowns down the stretch which you can't have, especially on the road and I think that was the big difference. I think we had some opportunities, we missed a wide open lay-up down the stretch and you've got to finish those plays off. It is a tough loss to take because we were right there and you've got still some games on the road and we had an opportunity to do that but we had too many turnovers, and I think a lot of them were kind of unforced turnovers and that is very disappointing."
"I think they were more aggressive than we were."
"When we needed a basket or a stop, we just couldn't get it."
Mawel Soler
"We didn't want to fall behind in the MAC because every game is
tough, no matter whether it is on the road or at home. We
felt that we let up against Northern Illinois a little bit and
you could see that it is a 40-minute game... This game, we wanted
to come out and play with a defensive intensity for 40 minutes
and no matter what happened at the end, as long as we played
40 minutes, we knew it would be a game."
Perrick Robinson
"Every time that I come into the game, Coach (Dakich) tells me
to get into the ball, pressure the ball and cause the opponents
to do things that they don't want to do. Every time that I come
in, that is what I try to do and tonight it worked. I made a few
steals and made them do a few things that they didn't want to do
and it helped us out in the long run."
