Mann, a native of Chelsea, Mich. (Chelsea H.S.), averaged a team-high 14.5 points along with 9.0 rebounds in the Falcons' two games, both road wins, last week. She had a team-best 19 points to help BGSU to a 61-58 win at Kent State Saturday afternoon (Jan. 14). The win, in an early-season showdown between the two unbeaten teams in the MAC's East Division, was BG's first road victory over the Flashes in nearly 12 years.
Mann also had nine rebounds in the KSU game, including a total of six at the offensive end of the court. Earlier in the week, Mann had 10 points and nine boards in the Falcons' 75-48 win at Buffalo (Jan. 10).
Mann has averaged 19.5 points and 9.5 rebounds over the last four games. She has missed a double-double by just one rebound in each of the team's three MAC games to date. Mann has scored in double digits in 13 of this season's 14 games, including in each of the last 11 contests.
On the season, Mann leads the Falcons in both scoring and rebounding, with 15.3 points and 8.3 boards per outing. She was named this week's MAC Player of the Week in the East Division, while Stephanie Raymond of Northern Illinois was this week's recipient of the West Division award.
The Falcons of head coach Curt Miller are 12-2 overall and 3-0 in MAC play. BGSU plays a pair of home games this week, welcoming Ohio University to venerable Anderson Arena for a Wednesday (Jan. 18) game, beginning at 7:00 p.m., and facing Miami University Saturday afternoon (Jan. 21) at 1:00 p.m. Four of BG's next five contests will be at Anderson.
PROGRAMMING NOTE: Falcon head coach Curt Miller is scheduled to appear on tonight's (Jan. 16) edition of the Falcons' Nest radio show. The one-hour show airs live from Fricker's in Bowling Green each Monday at 6:00 p.m. Miller will be on the show during the first half-hour, with Falcon men's basketball coach Dan Dakich slated for the second half-hour. The show is carried by participating stations on the Falcon Sports Radio Network. Miller and BGSU hockey coach Scott Paluch will alternate weeks on the show, schedules permitting.
