The Bowling Green State University women's golf team finished third at the EKU Colonel Classic with a 54-hole score of 976. Eastern Kentucky (960), the host school, and Tennessee Tech (971) were the only two squads to outshoot the Orange and Brown.
Leading the way for the Falcons was junior Jessica McCann. The Mason, Ohio native carded a 240 (82-80-78), improving two strokes from round-to-round. She finished fourth at the tournament. In fact, the junior has finished sixth or better this year in three of her four tournaments (1st, 4th and 6th).
Not far off the pace was fellow classmate Carley Hrusovsky. After firing a 79-81-82 the junior finished with a 242 and a tie for fifth-place. In her last two events she has now finished fifth and sixth overall.
Also competing for the Falcons were Amanda Bader (247, T-12th), Lindsey Jonkhoff (249, 14th) and Kari Liggett (265, 22nd).
Up next for the Orange and Brown is a trip to Cincinnati, Ohio for the UC Women's Fall Classic. The two-day event is set for Oct. 15-16, which will close out the fall season for the Falcons.
