Mann Named MAC Player of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio (BGSUFalcons.com) - Bowling Green State University women's basketball standout Ali Mann has been named a Mid-American Conference Player of the Week, the league office has announced. Mann, a senior forward, earns the honor for the first time this season and the sixth time in her Falcon career.

Mann, a native of Chelsea, Mich. (Chelsea H.S.), averaged a team-best 16.0 points per game as the Falcons posted a pair of lopsided wins to capture the UCF Golden Knights Tournament crown in Orlando, Fla. BGSU picked up a 76-40 win over Albany on Friday (Nov. 17) and an 87-56 victory vs. Fairleigh Dickinson the following night.
Mann posted that 16.0-points-per-game average in just 24 minutes per outing, as she helped the Falcon build big first-half leads each night. She scored 16 points in each game, shooting 6-for-8 from the field in the first game and 7-for-9 from the floor in the second.
On the weekend, Mann also averaged 3.5 rebounds and made two of her five three-point tries. She was 11-for-12 on shots from inside the arc in the two games. On the season, Mann is averaging a team-best 14.3 ppg, along with 4.3 rebounds per game, while shooting .594 from the field.
Mann shared this week's MAC P-O-W honor for the East Division with Buffalo's Belinda Gibb. Western Michigan's Carrie Moore picked up the honor for the West Division.
The Falcons, 3-1 on the young season, open the home portion of the schedule with a Friday (Nov. 24) game vs. Temple University. Tipoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. at Anderson Arena.
