The announcement marks the third time in four weeks that the Falcons have had a Player-of-the-Week selection. Mann earned the honor on Nov. 22, while junior Kate Achter was recognized on Nov. 28.
Mann, a native of Chelsea, Mich. (Chelsea H.S.), averaged a team-best 16.5 points along with five rebounds per game as the Falcons posted a pair of wins last week. Mann had 14 points and grabbed six boards as BGSU posted an 82-47 win over Indiana at Anderson Arena Wednesday night (Dec. 6). The Hoosiers had come into that game with a 7-1 record that included wins over Wake Forest, Kentucky and Notre Dame away from home.
Three days later (Dec. 9), Mann had 15 points in the first half en route to 19 points for the game, in a 25-point road victory over St. Bonaventure, 71-46. Mann also had four rebounds in that game, which gave Curt Miller his 100th career head-coaching victory.
Mann scored the first six points of that SBU game, all by working down low for layups, to set the tone for the night. In that contest, Mann became only the ninth player in school history to surpass the 1,400-point mark for her career. She now has 1,407 points in her BG tenure.
Mann had two steals and hit a three-point field goal in each of last week's two games.
On the season, Mann is averaging a team-high 15.5 points per game, and is the lone Falcon to score in double digits in each of the season's eight games to date. Mann also is averaging 4.1 rebounds per contest, and is shooting a MAC-best 60.0 percent (42-for-70) from the field, with a 7-of-15 (46.7%) rate from three-point land.
Mann earned this week's MAC P-O-W honor for the East Division, while Eastern Michigan's Patrice McKinney picked up the honor for the West Division.
The Falcons, 7-1 on the young season, are tied for 22nd in the nation in the most recent (last Tuesday's) USA Today ESPN poll. BGSU will break for exams before heading to Cancun, Mexico, for a pair of games. The Brown and Orange will take on undefeated and fourth-ranked Duke on Tuesday, Dec. 19, before meeting Texas-Arlington the following night.
