Falcons Nip Zips in MAC Opener, 7-0

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green (12-4, 1-0) pushed their win streak to double-digits as the Falcons held the visiting Zips of Akron (4-8, 0-1) scoreless in their 7-0 victory at Shadow Valley Tennis and Fitness Club. The win marked the second consecutive time the Falcons shut-out an opponent this season and was the fifth overall.
The Falcons took the doubles point with wins at all three flights. In the past five matches the combination of the sisters Jakupcin have yet to lose at the No. 2 slot, while the No. 1 doubles combination of Jenna Nussbaum and Heidi Romer have posted a 4-1 record. In the third flight, Andrea Meister and Andrea Volle picked up their tenth win this season.
Bowling Green will host the University at Buffalo tomorrow at Shadow Valley. The 1:00 p.m. match will close the conference-opening weekend for the Falcons.
