Depth in Throwers Lead Falcons to Second Place at the Ohio Invitational

ATHENS, Ohio - The weather wouldn't quite cooperate with the Falcons Friday and Saturday but the Orange and Brown pulled out of Athens, Ohio with a second place team finish at the Ohio Invitational. The Falcons racked in the points but couldn't overcome host Ohio University who took first place.
In all, the Falcons saw seven individual victories including: - Lauren Bryant in the discus (146-11) a personal-record for the Indiana native - Andi Bunko in the javelin, 137-8.00 - Erica Wilson in the high jump, 5-01.75 - Nicole Standback in the 100-meter hurdles, 14.99 seconds - Lacey Cochran in the 400-meter dash, 58.29 seconds - Jessica White in the 100-meter dash, 12.1 seconds - Andrea Pollack in the 3000-meter steeplechase (11:57.50)
Second place finishers included: - Lyndi Springer in the 400-meter hurdles, 1:04.88 - The 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:01.20 - Whitney Hartman in the shot put, 45-02.50, a personal-best; discus, 138-09.00, and hammer throw, 164.03
Third place finishes from: - Angela Raizis in the 800-meter, 2:24.22 - 4x100-meter relay, 48.82 (Standback, Wilson, Springer, White) - Stacey Turak in the polevault, 10-00.00 - Sharonda Alexander in the triple jump, 35-03.25, a new personal-record - Takara Dunning in the shot put, 44.07.00
Fourth place finishes included: - Kim Settle in the 1500-meter run, 5:00.10 - Bridget Dalic in the 5,000-meter run, 18:38.61 - Paris Bussey in the shot put, 43-02.50 - Alyson Lee in the javelin, 122-06.00
Fifth place finishers included: - Settle in the 800-meter run, 2:26.54 - Colleen Moran in the 1500-meter run, 5:02.73 - Laura Coy in the polevault, 9-00.00 - Bryant in the shot put, 42-07.00 - Bussey in the hammer throw, 134-02.00
Sixth place finishes included: - Erica Wilson in the long jump, 17-02.00 - Bussey in the discus, 128-06.00
Seventh place finishers included: - Amanda Sefcik in the long jump, 17-01.50 - Takara Dunning in the discus, 128-02.00 - Bryant in the hammer throw, 128-08.00
The Falcons were without Jamie Roflow and Stephanie Hillman as the two traveled to Palo Alto, California to compete in the Nike Stanford Track and Field Invitational. Roflow easily won her heat of the 5,000-meters with a Regional qualifying time of 16:45.50, the second fastest time in school history. Hillman ran a personal outdoor best of 17:44.30.
The Falcons will head to Columbus Friday and Saturday to compete in the All-Ohio meet on the campus of The Ohio State.
