Lima, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University athletic department and Clear Channel Lima have announced the affiliates that will carry games featuring the BGSU football team during the 2006 season.
The affiliate lineup has changed to eliminate overlapping signals and to add a more powerful presence in Columbus. WTPG-AM (1230) in Columbus has agreed to a two-year deal to carry BGSU football, replacing WVKO-AM as BGSU's affiliate in the market. WTPG Program Director Bruce Collins said, "We are excited about giving Bowling Green alumni in Central Ohio a chance to hear Falcon football games."
Jason Horn, BGSU Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Corporate Relations hailed the addition of WTPG: "This allows us to serve the vast alumni base in the Columbus area, while also making Falcon football more marketable to potential recruits, advertisers and sponsors of the program."
Todd Walker will return for his fourth season as "The Voice of The Falcons", former BGSU offensive lineman Cal Bowers is in his first year as analyst, while Jason Aldrich, also in his fourth year, will report from the sidelines.
WPFX-FM (107.7) in Findlay and Bowling Green returns as the flagship station.
